Product Description

The Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle Auto offers only the best when it comes to comfort and simplicity. With a comprehensive range of features, this top of the line CPAP machine is powered by technology, with a focus on ease of use.

With simplicity woven into its design, the Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle Auto takes the stress and effort out of your CPAP therapy. Doing everything it can to make CPAP therapy easy, the Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle Auto includes a world class algorithm and central sleep apnoea detection, a full range of innovative comfort options, and comprehensive connectivity options.

Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle Auto Features

A responsive ramp that works all night

Fisher & Paykel SensAwake technology is in a class of its own, working constantly throughout the night to monitor and adjust the air pressure to the most effective and comfortable level for you. The technology allows for the detection of periods where you are likely to wake up, reducing the negative impacts of CPAP therapy on your sleep.

Expiratory relief

The Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle Auto includes an expiratory relief system, which automatically reduces the air pressure every time you breath out. This design maximises comfort with every breath, and contributes to a complete therapy experience when paired with a Fisher & Paykel mask.

Sleek and Modern Design

Fisher & Paykel has designed the SleepStyle Auto to be modern and stylish, so that your CPAP machine sits discreetly on your bedside table. Quiet performance ensures that you and your partner’s sleep is not disturbed. Finally, you can travel with the included compact bag, which can hold both your CPAP machine and mask.

Comprehensive Ease of Use Features

An intuitive water chamber design is easy to clean and fill, opening with a quick press of a button. Not to mention, the menu is designed to be simple and straightforward, with large, easy to press buttons, and the setup and start process is quick and easy.

Other Features

ThermoSmart Humidification with AirSpiral Technology: The Fisher & Paykel breathing tube and humidification system is unlike any other. Using ThermoSmart humidification and AirSpiral technology, you get a comfortable experience unlike any other. The AirSpiral tube is now 20% lighter than the previous Fisher & Paykel tube, resulting in comfort and stability due to a reduced pull on your mask.

The Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle Auto is the only machine ever to have the American Arthritis Foundation’s ease of use commendation. This recognises products that are beneficial to people with physical limitations such as arthritis, proven through rigorous testing by experts and evaluation by people with arthritis.

The SleepStyle Auto comes with a range of connectivity features. The built in bluetooth connection provides you with instant access to your sleep data. Using the SleepStyle App, you can keep track of your CPAP therapy progress. Alerting you with common CPAP issues and helpful advice, the connectivity of the SleepStyle Auto lets you take charge of your sleep.
The SleepStyle is designed to work well with Fisher & Paykel’s award winning CPAP masks, allowing for high performance and functionality.

The History of Fisher & Paykel Healthcare

Based in New Zealand, Fisher & Paykel was established in 1934 by Maurice Paykel and Sir Woolf Fisher.

Fisher & Paykel’s movement into the health industry began in the 1960’s, as the company was looking to grow and expand. Previously only manufacturing household products such as refrigerators, F&P decided to take a prototype respiratory humidifier into the production stage. Officially entering the respiratory care market in 1971, F&P offered a unique respiratory system for use in critical care.

Building on their strengths of product innovation to improve patient care, and the development of a global distribution network, F&P continued to grow. In 2001,  the company separated, becoming Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corporation Limited.

Today, the company focuses on two main product groups; Respiratory and acute care, and sleep apnoea. They have manufacturing facilities in both New Zealand and Mexico, and are currently in the process of constructing a second Mexico facility. Employing over 3,500 people across 36 countries, Fisher & Paykel serves around 10 million patients across 120 countries.

How to Use the Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle Auto

Setting up and using your Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle Auto is easy; all you need to worry about is plugging in the machine, filling up the humidification chamber, connecting the tubing, and pressing start. Also, when it comes to maintenance, the SleepStyle keeps things simple.

Setting up your device

There are a few basic steps to follow when setting up and using your SleepStyle Auto:

Ensure that you are positioning your CPAP machine at or below the height of your mattress, with a reasonable amount of space around the machine. This ensures that the machine is in a safe position, in which air can freely flow into the machine and through the piping.

To plug in the machine, the power cord attaches directly to the back of the unit.
The humidification chamber is easy to refill and clean, with 4 simple steps:

  • Press the button on the top of the machine, allowing the lid to pop up.
    Remove the chamber.
  • Pull back the rubber seal.
  • Pour distilled water into the chamber, not exceeding the marked line on the side of the chamber.
  • Replace the seal and position the chamber back into the machine.

When connecting the tubing, plug the angled end of the tubing into the back of the machine. The other end will attach to your CPAP mask.

Finally, to turn on the machine, press the button on the front of the unit. Similarly, press the button again to turn the machine off.

Navigating the menu

The navigation buttons consist of up, down, tick, and menu buttons.
Press the menu button to switch between which setting you would like to change.
Then, use the up and down buttons to adjust the setting.

Once you are done adjusting the setting, press the tick to confirm your changes.
Settings that you can change include humidification, expiratory relief, sensawake, and my data.

Cleaning and maintenance

To clean the humidification chamber, pull the entire seal off. Then, pull up the latch and open the chamber. Rinse the chamber with water. This process should be carried out regularly, ideally with distilled water.

  • The air filter can be found on the back of the unit, and must be replaced every 3 months, or when necessary.
  • The water in the humidification tank should be replaced daily.
  • To clean the tubing, detach the tube and use mild soap and water.
